PNG Visa Requirements​

All people wishing to travel to Papua New Guinea for work, business, study or tourism purposes must have an entry permit/Visa to enter the country.

​
Visas can be obtained from your nearest PNG diplomatic mission and issued for single or multiple entries depending on the purpose of the visit.

Visa on arrival is available to eligible foreign nationals (listed below) at Port Moresby's Jacksons International Airport:
  1. All Pacific countries
  2. All Western European countries
  3. All Americans
  4. New Zealand
  5. Israel

PNG Vaccinations

Ask your doctor what vaccines and medicines you need based on where you are going, how long you are staying, what you will be doing. There is a risk of the below listed diseases in Papua New Guinea:

Hepatitis A - through contaminated food or water.
Typhoid - through contaminated food or water. Recommended for most travelers, especially if you plan to visit smaller cities or rural areas.
Hepatitis B - through sexual contact, contaminated needles, and blood products.
Malaria - talk to your doctor about the best preventative measures against malaria.
Rabies - present in bats in Papua New Guinea. However, it is not a major risk to most travelers.

A regional airport located at Nadzab 42 kilometres (26 miles) outside of Lae along the Highlands Highway. It is served by both private and regional aircraft with domestic flights.
