PNG Vaccinations
Ask your doctor what vaccines and medicines you need based on where you are going, how long you are staying, what you will be doing. There is a risk of the below listed diseases in Papua New Guinea:
Hepatitis A - through contaminated food or water.
Typhoid - through contaminated food or water. Recommended for most travelers, especially if you plan to visit smaller cities or rural areas.
Hepatitis B - through sexual contact, contaminated needles, and blood products.
Malaria - talk to your doctor about the best preventative measures against malaria.
Rabies - present in bats in Papua New Guinea. However, it is not a major risk to most travelers.
